garden on the last day of July.

We have eaten most of the lettuce from the Mother's day plants; the French mixture is about at its peak. I planted another short row last week.
Picked the first of the beans today, and Sadie picked the first cherry tomato last weekend. The "Doukhobor roma" plant is as tall as I am. Chard is getting the big leaves, and I've canned 4 quarts of dills. The salad cucumbers are really tasty.
The potato plants at home have lots of flowers, more so than usual. The potatoes at the church plot seem to be fading; there are spuds under them, though - I checked.
I don't know what's going on with the one squash plant other than it's making its way through the garden by attaching to the dill.
There are pods on some of the fava beans. They really are spectacular plants.
My date for apricot ripening was optimistic. Katy's are ripe, and they dried really nicely. Another week, maybe. Tried drying blueberries, but no go.
Should be a record crop of blackberries. I must try to figure out what to do with them other than jelly.
