fruit
The strawberry plants looked good, but didn't produce many berries this year, maybe because of lots of runners. The rhubarb is pretty much done, as are the saskatoons. They mixed together nicely in a chutney; managed to save 4 cups of saskatoons a bit at a time. Now raspberries, which are plentiful, but small.
Have 2 1/2 containers of dried cherries so far, and 5 trays in the machine. A new approach to cherry maggots, they lead to more compost.
I look at the apricots and try to guess when they will ripen, maybe July 31? The first apricot crop, after all. To come are 7 apples, lots of plums, a few pears, with many more over the fence, pear-apples, and, of course, grapes. I was worried about the grapes, as they seemed to bloom late, but there are bunches everywhere.
This seems pretty good for a back yard.
