pneumonia vests

The church ladies showed me a little knitted vest, and called it a pneumonia vest, a strange concept. They are really pneumonia prevention vests, and are sent to somewhere in Africa, as it has been noted that keeping babies warm helps prevent pneumonia. It turns out to be another excellent way to use up some of the accumulated yarn, so I've made a dozen so far. The crocheted ones are quick and easy; knitted ones are not so quick, but easy also. Fran gave me a huge bag of yarn, including some soft baby yarn, which has been great for these. Have used up lots of little balls of leftovers from all of those baby projects years ago. This has slowed down the UFO afghan project and the plastic bag bags, but all in a good cause.
