Have I done a book list since February, 2009?
The answer to that question doesn't matter; these are good ones since then.
Elizabeth Hay, Late Nights on Air
Ismail Kadare, The Siege
Monique Proulx, Wildlives
Jonathan Coe, The Rain Before it Falls
Lawrence Hill, Some Great Thing
Joe Quirk, The Ultimate Rush
Paul Headrick, That Tune Clutches My Heart
Steig Larsson, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire
Lilian Nattel, The River Midnight
Joseph Boyden, Through Black Spruce - I don't remember much about a lot of these, but this one sticks with you. Lovely.
David Guterson, The Other
Anne deGrace, Wind Tails
Andrew Vachss, Haiku
Fred Vargas, Wash this Blood Clean From my Hand ; The Three Evangelists
Henning Mankell, Italian Shoes
Paul Auster, Invisible
Ursula Hegi, The Worst Thing I've Done
Paul Auster, The Book of Illusions
Steven Heighton, Every Lost Country, The Shadow Boxer
Zoe Heller, The Believers
Miriam Toews, The Summer of my Amazing Luck
Wendell Berry, Andy Catlett, Early Travels; Hannah Coulter. These Port William books are beautiful. There aren't any more in the library, so will have to look elsewhere for the rest.
I don't remember a lot about some of these. They just have asterisks by them in my green book.

Hi Karen,
I'm honoured to be included on your list of good books. How did my little novel, _That Tune Clutches My Heart_, find its way into your hands?
Cheers,
Paul Headrick
Hi Paul,
Your novel is in the Nelson Public Library, and I picked it probably because of its cover (a very attractive cover).
Frank not Bing, Fabian not Frankie Avalon, and The Stones not the Beatles. I have no idea if there are any groups now that teenagers think about in this way.
The book list is done mostly to give my daughters some suggestions. I also have a blog at http://who-edited-this.blogspot.com/, subtitled "Where have all the editors gone?"
