the start of the veg-fruit onslaught

The harvest has begun - dill pickles and zucchini pickles, raspberry and apricot jams, and some canned beans. The new little freezer is really a big help, as small amounts can be frozen - don't have to wait for "enough to can". This is a big year for apples - two more buckets of transparents from Marilyn, who has an amazing tree. Maybe apple butter?
